Freedom Extension Privacy Policy

The Freedom extension is an internal tool of Freedom Rental Property Management (FRPM). It is deployed to company-managed Google accounts and is used to understand staff workload and activity during work hours. This policy explains what the extension collects, why, and where the data goes.

Who this applies to

This extension is force-installed by FRPM on managed company Chrome profiles. It operates only while a person is signed into Chrome with an FRPM-managed Google account. It is not offered to or intended for the general public.

What the extension collects

  • The email address of the signed-in company account, used to attribute each reading to the correct staff member.
  • The domain, full URL, and page title of the active browser tab.
  • The active, idle, or locked state of the device, derived from whether keyboard or mouse input has occurred. Input content is never read.
  • Whether a Chrome window is currently focused, and the time of each reading.

Readings are taken on a periodic schedule (about every five minutes) only for the single active tab. The extension does not read other open tabs.

What the extension does NOT collect

  • The content of web pages (text, images, audio, or video).
  • The content of emails, texts, or chat messages.
  • Passwords, credentials, or other authentication information.
  • Financial or payment information.
  • Health information.
  • Keystrokes, mouse coordinates, scroll, or location.

How the data is used and where it goes

Each reading is sent to FRPM’s own Google Apps Script endpoint and stored in FRPM’s own Google Sheet. This is a first-party company system. The data is used solely to measure staff workload and activity for internal staffing and management decisions. It is not used for any purpose unrelated to that single purpose.

Data sharing

FRPM does not sell or transfer this data to any third party. It is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. The data remains within FRPM’s own Google Workspace environment.

Data retention

Raw activity readings are retained for approximately 16 days and then automatically purged. Before purging, the data is summarized into weekly per-person totals, which FRPM retains as an internal record.
