Freedom Rental Property Management is pleased to be partnered with Second Nature and their nationally popular Resident Benefits Package (RBP) as it’s of high value and makes sense for all parties – residents, property owner, and manager. Because renters insurance and air filter changes are required as part of the lease, it just makes sense to require the RBP to satisfy these terms while providing high value to residents via group rate discounts. Benefits to the resident include:
- Furnace filter delivery to your door every 3 months. This alleviates the need to spend an hour of time going to the store to purchase. Freedom’s lease will change to follow this program so filters are to be changed quarterly instead of monthly.
- The required renters insurance is included in the RBP and includes all required aspects of the insurance – $100,000 liability, $1,000 pet damage, $25,000 pet bite liability, and $1,000 mold damage coverage. You’re welcome to purchase your own 3rd party plan and provide to fulfill the lease terms as long as it has these coverages. Additionally, while not required by your lease, this plan includes $10,000 personal belongings coverage for your items.
- Positive credit reporting for on time rent payments. Paying rent on time will finally build your credit score, which will get you lower interest rates on vehicle and home loans in the future saving you hundreds or thousands of dollars! Late rent payments won’t negatively impact; it reports only on time payments for a positive impact.
- Resident rewards via the Pinata app totaling up to $200 per year in gift cards to popular stores like Amazon, Walmart, and Target. $30 gift card immediately upon signing up, $25 gift card with first on time rent payment, credits monthly with each one time rent payment, and a $30 gift card upon renewal.
- Identity theft protection up to $1,000,000 in coverage included. Covers all adults on the lease. Compare to independent identity theft protection plans costing $32/mo.

Second Nature is a national program providing their volume discount packages to hundreds of thousands of rental homes. Monthly plan is $42.95, and the value received is: $11.95/mo renters insurance, $6/mo filter delivery, $10/mo credit reporting, $16.67/mo in rewards, $32/mo identity theft protection for all adults on the lease. That’s $76.62/mo in value plus convenience.

- My home doesn’t need furnace filters. If the home you’re renting isn’t equipped with its own furnace and air filter, the cost of the program will be reduced to exclude the air filter. You won’t pay for something not received.
- Can I provide my own renters insurance policy? Yes, it’s accepted as long as it has the minimum requirements of $100,000 in liability coverage, $25,000 in dog bite liability coverage, $1,000 in pet damage coverage, and $1,000 in mold coverage. Personal contents coverage is optional. The cost of the RBP will be reduced by $11.95 per month if you provide your own insurance in which case you’d upload your policy to Second Nature for review and verification that is meets the above requirements. You may find it’s easier to just use the insurance provided as part of the RBP.
- What happens if I move? All benefits of the RBP will be canceled upon move out.
- What happens if Freedom stops managing? The RBP will be canceled. You may encourage the new manager to sign up for an RBP to offer with Second Nature.
